Combining an authentic keyboard action and piano sound . Kawai continues its 90 year history of making  musical instruments, maintaining traditional processes while embracing the very latest technical innovations.

Acoustic piano key weighting
Acoustic pianos utilise heavier bass hammers and lighter treble hammers, the RHCII keyboard action also employs different hammer weights.   Providing greater stability during fortissimo passages for instance. Yet, preserving delicate pianissimo control.
Triple sensor key detection
The Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action utilises an accurate triple-sensor key detection system. This gives  enhanced playing realism.
The added third sensor improves responsiveness whilst playing the same key repeatedly. This is because Kawai’s action technology  monitors the speed at which each key is lifted. Most importantly, it provides a greater range of expression between staccato and legato playing.
True character in every note
The  KDP110 digital piano captures the beautiful sound of Kawai’s highly acclaimed concert grand piano. All 88 keys of this exceptional instrument meticulously recorded, analysed and faithfully reproduced. Achieved using advanced Harmonic Imaging technology. Because each key is recorded individually , it preserves the rich harmonic character of the SK-EX concert grand piano.   The sound heard, from any one of the Kawai KDP110’s weighted keys,  is a faithful representation of the original acoustic source.
Harmonic Imaging technology
When playing a  piano, the amount of pressure applied to the keyboard affects  the volume of the sound produced .  Ranging from gentle pianissimo to thunderous fortissimo.
